ASIS Signs Agreement with International Association of Chiefs of Police

Fresno Valley Chapter Members & Friends,

After driving three hours from the San Francisco Bay Area to Fresno, CA with my ARVP Wayne Dexter CPP, I am very happy to report that we had a tremendously successful Fresno Valley Chapter meeting last Friday, 28 Aug '09.

Nearly half of the chapter membership came for this critical meeting and they included: Jan Anderson, Joe Maskovich, Tom Nabors, Kelly Davis, Vanessa Mello, Jim Castle, Ricardo Franco, Ryan Madron and Roy Hernandez. One of our stalwarts, Jan Anderson, took copious notes to help the new Secretary in the transition process. Thanks Jan! It was our pleasure to welcome the newest Fresno Valley Chapter member Paul Presno to his first meeting. Paul works for Joe. Welcome Paul!

We discussed the chapter's needs and after seeking nominations, four volunteers emerged. I closed the nomination process and received a confirming vote for the following individuals to take the reins of the chapter: I then swore in the following new officers to the positions indicated for the reminder of 2009 and 2010:

  • Chair, Ryan Madron CPP
  • Vice-Chair, Roy Hernandez
  • Treasurer, Tom Nabors
  • Secretary, Rico Franco

We owe Joe Maskovich, Manager of Public Safety, Fresno Yosemite Int'l Airport, a vote of thanks for not only offering a fine conference room in which to meet, but also for a great lunch. Thanks Joe!

I have every confidence in Ryan and this officer corps to take this 25 year old ASIS Chapter to new heights and levels of success that the members in the Fresno Valley will be proud of!

A person who also deserves recognition is past chapter chairman Dave Arlund CPP and stalwarts Jan Anderson and Don Tennyson. Thanks Dave, Jan and Don!
